Kauai at its Best
With the blue Pacific in view, visitors have the chance to encounter endangered Hawaiian monk seals, green sea turtles, and humpback whales. One of the most unique sights you may encounter at Poipu Bay Golf is the Nene Goose, which is endemic to Hawaii, and not encountered anywhere else in the entire world. Safe to say, it's easy to get distracted. Poipu Bay’s 210 oceanfront acres meander along rugged coastline featuring 85 bunkers, five water hazards and wildly varying trade winds, all of which combine to make the course. Even the most concentrated of golfers have found themselves distracted by the mesmerising atmosphere that surrounds them.
Home to a number of significant historical sites—cultural treasures that are protected and maintained by Poipu Bay staff. The course design incorporates several ancient Hawaiian heiau and handmade stone walls, estimated to date back over 500 years. Heiau were built specifically on sites deemed to have the most mana, a spiritual power that emanates from sacred places. Golfers are forbidden to enter these culturally-sensitive areas or play balls from them, but we do invite you to gaze upon these windows on Kauai’s past.
